Universidad Europea will be present at Madrid es Moda and Mercedes Benz Fashion Week

IADE and Universidad Europea students will dress models in the best designs ready for a fashion show at Serrería Belga on 11 September

On 11 September students will show off their great skills in the world of fashion as part of their first official fashion show. It will form part of the Madrid es Moda event, which kicks off Fashion Week, taking place in the capital from 7-11 September.

This initiative will allow students taking the Higher Degree in Fashion to put into practice all the knowledge acquired at the institution in a real scenario, as well as learning first-hand about the ins and outs of this profession.

For Marta Rocha, deputy director of the Fashion area at the UEM-IADE Creative Campus, “The fashion show organised by Madrid es Moda within the framework of Madrid Fashion Week is a unique opportunity for IADE-Universidad Europea de Madrid students, as this event is their first big push into the world of professional design”.

Organising the dresses that the models will wear, retouching the final details before heading out onto the catwalk, and being in touch with the designers of brands such as Devota y Lomba, Beatriz Peñalver or Mané Mané will be an unforgettable experience. Additionally, Miguel Becer, creative director of the latter, will supervise the fashion show held by students on the Higher Degree in Fashion course.

Having the opportunity to be part of such an important fashion show, as well as positioning themselves as emerging designers by presenting the proposals they have worked on throughout the year, is the culmination of an intense year of learning and experimentation, which is part of the academic model at the Universidad Europea.

A true technological centre with which the Universidad Europea is once again committed to innovation, keeping the institution’s characteristic spirit of experiential learning intact.

Likewise, two of IADE's alumni, Alberto Martín of Boltad Brand and Aarón Moreno of EMEERREE, have been selected to take part as upcoming brands in the Allianz Ego Confidence in Fashion event during the new edition of the Mercedes Benz Madrid Fashion Week. This award, given by the Allianz insurance company, recognises the work undertaken by promising young people in the fashion world.
