    Mito

    Collection proposal inspired by Basque folklore and lost mythology, reinterpreting Beasts, Lamias, and Basajaun through garments that blend tradition, symbolism, and modernity.

    Project description

    In the past, the first Basques said that men descended from bears. Today, there are no native bears left in Euskal Herria; the last one was shot over a century ago. The person who pulled the trigger didn’t know that, with the bear, the Beasts, Lamias, and Basajaun would vanish as well. We drove them out with blows and condemned them to tales and stories; we banished them like last season’s garments and relegated them to the archives. But nothing truly wild dies—it only transforms. Now they return, wrapped in hide, wool, and ancient symbols. They come to reclaim their land, their place. Soon, we will hear their roars again.

    This collection explores the figure of the Renaissance woman reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. It takes as its starting point the women depicted in the paintings and art of the period: figures full of symbolism, beauty, and stillness, who today are transformed into active, aware, and present women. The collection reflects on femininity across time: a woman who retains the elegance and delicacy of the past, yet today claims her own space. She is no longer just a muse, but a protagonist. This reinterpretation turns fashion into a bridge between history and the present, where art is translated into garments that celebrate a new feminine renaissance.

    The collection explores the balance between the constructed image and the authentic identity of the contemporary woman. Mujer Dinamita moves between two states: control and surrender, perfection and spontaneity, what is shown and what is felt. She does not give up elegance or sensuality, yet allows cracks to appear in that perfect image. Some looks maintain a polished and structured aesthetic, while others introduce gestures of disorder, as we will see next. The collection is not about the end of the night, but the moment when perfection begins to loosen slightly. That in-between point where femininity stops being rigid and becomes more human, proposing a vision of womanhood that is neither entirely perfect nor entirely broken, but alive, changeable, and contradictory.
