Curriculum Plan

The Master's Degree in Fashion Marketing and Communication will help you to develop specialised fashion skills related to marketing, branding, communication, retail, product, PR and digital fashion. You’ll learn to design innovative communication strategies applied to product collections, fashion brands, communication campaigns and events.

You’ll also gain both an artistic and entrepreneurial perspective, essential not only for learning about the way business works in the textiles ecosystem, but also to obtain a highly specialised vision in terms of brands and designers.

You’ll also learn and apply new offline and online marketing strategies in any structure of the fashion market, in order to develop skills and flexible tools in thinking and taking action around the current and future context of fashion.

  • Module 1: communication in the Fashion Ecosystem (6 ECTS).
  • Module 2: behaviour of New Offline and Online Fashion Consumers (6 ECTS).
  • Module 3: product in the Different Business Structures of the Fashion Market (6 ECTS).
  • Module 4: business and Fashion 4.0 (6 ECTS).
  • Module 5: fashion Branding (6 ECTS).
  • Module 6: communication and Management of Conventional and Non-Conventional Fashion Channels (6 ECTS).

Course plan

First Semester

  • Fashion Ecosystem and Business
    Historical, social, artistic and cultural trends that have most influenced the history of fashion in the 20th and 21st centuries, as well as the main current and future fashion market structures.

  • Fashion Consumer Behaviour
    Consumer needs, thoughts and behaviours in offline and online shopping are becoming increasingly important for fashion brands, requiring the design of effective strategies that enhance brand value, profitability and consumer loyalty.

  • Product in the Different Structures of the Fashion Market
    Strategic perspective of product behaviour on catwalks, individual brands, commercial brands and business groups, used to conceptualise and plan a textile collection, incorporating innovative technological and digital transformation tools applied to the value chain of a collection.

  • Business and Fashion
    Different business models in the fashion market, how they work and how they are managed, as well as new business models based on sustainability and CSR.

Second Semester

  • Fashion Branding
    Techniques of fashion brand positioning and repositioning, as well as their artistic direction. Technical foundations of styling fashion campaigns.

  • Communication and Management of Fashion Channels
    Key concepts and methods related to a communication strategy in the fashion market, as well as the management of conventional and non-conventional advertising channels. Planning fashion-related events, including their management, control and scheduling. Designing a social media plan for fashion brands.

  • Fashion Retail
    Strategically planning the internal and external layout of a point of sale. Designing experiences related to Neurobranding at the point of sale. KPI analysis related to profitability at the point of sale. Defining the importance of customer experience.

  • Digital Marketing and Fashion Innovation
    Impact of digital fashion today. Digital marketing and advertising campaigns in fashion. Emerging technologies applied in all areas related to the product, logistics, communication and points of sale of a commercial fashion brand.

  • CON04 - Can classify different strategic methods and offline/online communication management tools linked to the consumer, product, commercial formats, business and fashion brands.
  • CON05 - Can analyse trends related to fashion products, as well as offline and online consumer buying behaviour in the different strategic structures of the market, communication of fashion brands and points of sale.

  • HAB01 - Analyse business and artistic factors that directly or indirectly influence the functioning of the fashion market.
  • HAB02 - Use tools and methods for the design and branding of any project related to digital marketing in fashion.
  • HAB03 - Develop a method for the analysis and interpretation of collections, consumer behaviour and fashion brands.
  • HAB04 - Analyse the main strategies used in the fashion market based on the ecosystem, textile brands, and commercial innovation in business models.
  • HAB05 - Analyse differences in concept, communication and management of business models in the fashion market.
  • HAB06 - Advocate thinking towards an ethical, divergent, socially responsible business model.
  • HAB07 - Evaluate the latest trends in the fashion market in its different areas.

  • CP04 - Design and assess action plans in areas related to offline and online fashion marketing and communication.
  • CP05 - Design, implement and evaluate personalisation strategies using the most appropriate tools available in fashion retail.
  • CP06 - Analyse and evaluate different strategic structures of internal business and commercial communication within the fashion market ecosystem.
  • CP07 - Analyse and evaluate different creative product strategies around the creation of a commercial fashion collection, identifying trends, business opportunities and offline/online consumers, coming up with creative and commercially viable proposals.
  • CP08 - Come up with innovative strategic product approaches for specialised proposals in the area of fashion retail.
  • CP09 - Analyse and evaluate fashion branding projects, and formulate innovative, effective solutions linked to the design and management of fashion communication campaigns.
  • CP10 - Design and evaluate strategic image communication proposals for new fashion brands in offline and online sales channels.
  • CP11 - Assess and design online marketing and communication action plans having studied the online fashion consumer's purchasing behaviour and needs.
  • CP12 - Prepare, present and defend an original paper/project in the field of marketing and communication, combining the skills acquired throughout the degree.
