It all begins with the purpose and function of the environment, the space, and our relationship as human beings with a specific setting. This environment can be shared with others or exist outdoors, in nature—surrounded by mountains or the sea, for example. However, it can also be a space of brick and concrete or plaster and metal. In this case, the focus is exclusively on the latter type of space: the “container.” Considering the importance of the container, this thesis employs a multisensory design for people undergoing rehabilitation, demonstrating that such a space can have a healing and liberating effect on them.
