This project, developed as part of the Graphic and Multimedia Design degree, was awarded a Commended prize at the World Brand Design Awards, an international recognition of the project’s conceptual and formal quality. The work involved designing a display typeface for an exhibition on the concept of utopia, taking inspiration from Thomas More’s Utopia. The goal was to translate theoretical thought into a visual language, understanding typography as a critical tool within contemporary graphic design. Based on conceptual research and the analysis of references such as Francis Bacon and Donna Haraway, the students developed a proposal that combines reason and transformation, structure and fluidity. Formally, the typeface articulates geometric structures with a futuristic inspiration and rounded terminals, balancing solidity and expressiveness. The project demonstrates the integration of research, conceptualization, and technical development typical of the Graphic Design degree, as well as the students’ commitment to academic excellence and professional projection.
